The Braves send SS Swanson to the 10-day DL
Dansby Swanson is battling a wrist injury in a blow to the Atlanta Braves in MLB.
The Atlanta Braves sent shortstop Dansby Swanson to the 10-day disabled list with left wrist inflammation.
In a corresponding move, Atlanta retired outfielder Preston Tucker from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Swanson, 24, a former prospect, struggled last year, his first full season in MLB, but had shown signs of promise earlier this year, hitting .289 with two homers and two stolen bases in 28 games
Atlanta has shown an impressive number of young and talented players this season, led by Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies, Sean Newcomb and Swanson.

The Braves (19-11) currently lead the East National League by 1.5 games over the Mets, but will have to find a temporary replacement for Swanson's defensive and offensive dexterity.
